I will briefly describe the life of this fantastic Renault - R10 Major type 1190, found closed and covered in her garage by a lady who lives in Ravenna. When this car was found, as it had been standing still in a garage for over 25/30 years, the engine was stuck, as well as the entire braking system. The paint was still in very good condition, the car is thought to have never been restored. The thickness of the paint is very thin and, as shown in the left rear door, you can see the thinness of the paint when polishing the car. The old lady doesn’t remember whether or not it was repainted during the time she used it. I tried to carry out a preservative restoration, chrome is entirely original of the time, no touch ups with brush was made, but there is a small dent on the right mudguard, as shown in photos. It also seems the right side doors were repainted on bottom in the past, where we can see a slight difference in colour and paint thickness. Otherwise the bodywork is in good condition, underbody is perfectly intact with no holes nor damages. The mechanical part was entirely disassembled and redone completely, from piston rings, cylinder head, brass bearings, radiator, clutch, etc. Gearbox is in very good condition, gear shifting is excellent. You won’t hear any creaking on this car, it’s very quiet and complete with everything, except for the driver’s side lock block. Electrical system entirely in working condition, braking system in perfect working condition with new brakes. The car received a preservative restoration and it was fully sandblasted and polished, except for the rims which were repainted, of course. Car sold with no reserve price. Documents are from first registration, the car will be inspected at my expense if sold in Italy.
